Prayer Ministry

Who is Prayer Ministry for?

We regularly see people freed from shame, fear, addiction, and identity issues. If you feel stuck in an area of your life with people or with God, then Prayer Ministry is for you. Antioch Community Church Fort Collins invites its members to apply for a Prayer Ministry session. Since the session involves prayer and discussion with the Holy Spirit that is founded on a belief and basic familiarity with the idea of hearing God, it is preferred that you are committed to a Life Group and walking in discipleship. If you have any questions concerning application for a session, please contact prayerministry@antiochfc.org.

What if I am not in discipleship, can I still apply?

We believe and have seen that walking out the journey of healing is done best in community with other believers, especially Life Group and discipleship. For that reason, we prefer that you are in discipleship or have been involved in Life Group for a period of time. Many of our Life Group leaders are trained in aspects of prayer ministry, so feel free to discuss any questions with your leaders. You can find out more information on how to get involved in a Life Group here.

What can you expect in a session?

During your two hour session, a trained team member will lead you through guided prayer to grow in intimacy with Jesus as he brings healing to specific areas including, but not limited to: depression, fear, identity, anger, shame, and forgiveness. At its core, Prayer Ministry is simply asking God for revelation in areas that need his healing and restoration.

You can expect to be treated with love, respect, and compassion. All session are completely confidential.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

Our ministry operates with a trained group of volunteers, who work to be flexible and available for your appointment. You will be assigned to a ministry team (a minimum of two people) who will meet with you as soon as possible after completing the application form. The wait time for a session can vary from a week to several weeks. Please be patient as you wait for a session to be scheduled.

I want to sign up for a session, where do I start?

We are so excited that you are interested in taking this step in your journey toward spiritual healing. Our prayer ministry schedules sessions during the year from August until May. We are currently full through May and will begin scheduling new sessions again in mid-August. Please check back at that time to fill out a prayer ministry application. In the meantime, please contact your life group leaders for any specific prayer needs.

Also, a great resource to consult is our Maintaining Freedom/Tending Your Heart sheet available here. Use this resource as a simple guide to help provide scriptural truth and some basic questions that will help on your journey of healing.

How can I become a team member?

Trainings are offered throughout the year. After going through the training, our volunteers act as interns in sessions, learning how to facilitate an inner healing session. You can expect two volunteers who work as prayer partners to guide guests through each session. We conduct background checks on all team members. We do not have a large training on the calendar but if you are interested, email prayerministry@antiochfc.org for more information.
