"Include Me" Prayer

OVERVIEW.
The "Include Me" prayer is centered on the desire to be part of God's work in the world. It is a simple yet profound invitation to Jesus: "Jesus, would you include me in what you're doing today?" This prayer reflects a heart open to God's leading and a willingness to participate in His mission, whether through acts of kindness, sharing the gospel, or simply being present with others.
PRACTICE.
1. Start Your Day with the Prayer
  • Begin each morning by quietly asking Jesus, “Include me in what You’re doing today.”
  • This sets the tone for your day, inviting God’s guidance in your interactions and decisions.
  • Tip: Keep it short and simple—consistency matters more than length.

2. Look for Everyday Opportunities
  • Be attentive to small ways you can serve or show kindness—helping a coworker, listening to a friend, or noticing someone in need.
  • Ask yourself: “How might Jesus want me to engage here?”
  • Treat ordinary moments as opportunities to participate in God’s work.

3. Pray Throughout the Day
  • Don’t limit the prayer to the morning. Pause periodically to say, “Jesus, include me here,” when opportunities arise.
  • This keeps you aware and sensitive to God’s leading in real time.

4. Reflect on Experiences
  • At the end of the day, review moments where you felt included in God’s work—or where you missed opportunities.
  • Thank God for the moments you participated and ask for discernment to see opportunities more clearly tomorrow.
  • Journaling can help reinforce awareness and growth.

5. Integrate with Others
  • Share this prayer with family, friends, or a small group. Encourage each other to look for ways Jesus is active around you.
  • Consider praying together before activities or outreach, asking Jesus to include all of you in His work.

6. Combine with “Prayer, Care, Share”
  • Use the “Include Me” prayer as a springboard for action:
    • Care: Respond to needs/feelings you notice.
    • Prayer: Invite Jesus into the interaction.
    • Share: Share a testimony or the gospel.
