Abide

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

Practice.

OVERVIEW. “Abide” simply means to stay or remain. This is a daily, ongoing rhythm of actively choosing to stay in God’s presence by spending time in relationship with him, especially through prayer, reading his word, and worship. It’s because of our time with God that we are sustained for our days and bear his fruit.

PRACTICE. Please take a look at our Hearing God practices. Each of these is designed to help you find ways of abiding in Jesus. Feel free to also dive into the Face Time practice, which is a basic guide for daily time with Jesus.

BIBLE READING. Jesus directly speaks on abiding in John 15:1-17. If a practice of abiding is new to you, consider reading this passage as part of your face time with Jesus.
