Welcome life group leaders!
This guide is a resource for you as you pray and consider how you lead your group towards being with Jesus, becoming more like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did, together!

Meal / Fellowship
(Briefly welcome the group & pray before eating.)
We share dinner together as an act of fellowship. Throughout the gospels, we see Jesus constantly interacting with people over a meal. The act of eating is so universal that eating together both fills a practical need and helps us open up again to community together. As we eat and share, let’s intentionally reflect on God’s presence in our lives.
Optional: you can have the elements of communion to take communion together to start or end the meal.

- Where did you encounter God this week?
- What is God teaching you right now?
- How did you see God moving in someone else's life?

Discovery Bible Study (DBS)
Topic: Let Not Your Heart Be Hardened
Leading Scripture: Hebrews 3:1-19
Tips:
1. Set the tone
2. Begin with prayer
3. Read the passage
Discovery Questions:
1. What does this passage teach us about God — His character, heart, or actions?
Help people notice what Jesus reveals about God’s humility, love, and service. Affirm observations that connect back to the text.
2. What does this passage teach us about people — our needs, responses, or resistance?
Invite honest reflection. You can say, “Where do you see yourself in this passage?” Encourage both encouragements and challenges.
3. What is God inviting me to do or change in response to this passage?
Press for specific and doable responses. “What’s one concrete step you can take this week to walk in humility or serve others like Christ?”
4. Who is someone I can care for or share this with this week?
Encourage the group to listen for the Spirit — maybe a friend, coworker, or family member. Emphasize simple acts of care or sharing a verse or encouragement.
Leading Scripture: Hebrews 3:1-19
Tips:
1. Set the tone
- Create a welcoming, unhurried atmosphere.
- Remind everyone that the goal isn’t to teach but to discover together what God is saying through His Word.
- Encourage participation from everyone — even brief thoughts matter.
2. Begin with prayer
“Holy Spirit, would You open our hearts and help us see Jesus clearly in this passage?”
3. Read the passage
- Have someone read the passage aloud.
- Ask a second person to re-read it in another translation.
- Then invite someone to retell it in their own words — this helps everyone internalize the text before discussion.

End With Prayer Together
Consider this time as an opportunity to minister to each other through prayer. Follow the spirit's leading.
A leader should close out the night with a final prayer over the group as a whole and thank everyone for coming.
